Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare that combines hands-on techniques with medical knowledge and expertise. Practitioners focus on the vital role of the musculoskeletal system in supporting overall health, using a variety of techniques grounded in the principle that structure and function are closely interrelated.
How does it work?
Osteopaths will use palpation and clinical testing to devise a diagnosis and treatment plan. They will then engage with the patient on their thoughts, ideas and goals. With the aim of balancing the nervous and circulatory system through improving movement and tissue tension, multiple bodily functions and systems will improve - with the overall benefit of supporting self-healing.
Benefits of Osteopathy
Promotes self healing
Gain and maintain mobility
Improve daily functioning
Reduce pain
Stress reduction

Common misconceptions about Osteopathy
“Osteopathy is only for the back” - we do see a large amount of back pain patients, but did you know Osteopaths have extensive training in the whole musculoskeletal system including every joint! (Even fingers and toes!)
“Osteopaths work just on bones” - Although, the word “osteo” does mean bone in Latin, Osteopaths undergo a 4 year Masters degree that includes bones, muscles, joints, neuro-science, exercise physiology, gynecological health, and pathology/diagnosis.
